Jennifer is from Bagdad, Florida, and has lived there all her life. She and Terry, her husband of 32 years, have two children and three grandchildren who make their hearts complete. Jennifer has been with St. Mark United Methodist Church for 10 years – nine as Office Manager, and now part-time as the Business Administrator.

Hyunjoo Kim
Organist

Hyunjoo received a Bachelor’s of Music from the Catholic University of Korea and a Master’s degree from Hanyang University, all in organ performance. She served as an organist/pianist in several churches prior to joining St. Mark United Methodist Church.

Amanda Leeser
Communications Coordinator

Amanda is from Saucier, Mississippi. She graduated with a B.A. in English and a minor in Spanish from the University of Southern Mississippi. Amanda moved to Pensacola in 2004 and taught high school for over a decade. During her time at St. Mark, she has been Children’s Ministry Director and Administrative Assistant before becoming the Communications Coordinator.

John Ford
Director of Music

John is an Army-brat, born at Fort Knox, Kentucky. He graduated with a mathematics degree from North Georgia College in Dahlonega, GA (the site of the first major American gold rush), met his wife Anita in college (married 35 years and going strong), served 6 1/2 years as an Army Signal Corps Officer, then joined the ranks of a civilian US Government Information Technology contractor.

John has lived at Fort Knox, KY; Bamberg, Germany; Nuremburg, Germany; Clemson, SC; Fort Leavenworth, KS; Oslo, Norway; Fort Ord, CA; Alexandria, VA; Dahlonega, GA; Fort Gordon, GA; Fort Sill, OK; Aschaffenburg, Germany; Wuerzburg, Germany; Dayton, OH; Woodbridge, VA; Manassas, VA; and Pensacola, FL.

John has been active in the United Methodist church in many roles including youth leader, adult Sunday School teacher, Stewardship Committee chairperson, Finance Committee chairperson, at-large Administrative Board member, Worship Committee member; Staff-Parish Relations Committee member; choir member (singing bass); praise band leader for contemporary worship services; United Methodist Men; Walk to Emmaus; church pianist; and choir director. John plays piano, trumpet, and guitar.

When not serving as Director of Music Ministries for St Mark UMC, John works full time as an IT Project Manager supporting the US Navy’s Education and Training Command at Saufley Field. He and Anita love living in Pensacola and can’t think of anything better than spending a day at the beach or enjoying locally caught seafood. But nothing is more important to us than worshiping God on Sunday mornings.

 Samba F. Johnson
Director of Age Level Ministries

Samba F. Johnson was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to a loving family.  He attended Schenley High School where his initial love for the game of basketball developed.  He was blessed to have the opportunity to gain a full Men’s Basketball Athletic Scholarship at Chaminade University of Honolulu where he graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing.  He has also obtained a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education from Cleveland State University in Cleveland, Ohio.

For over twenty years he has coached at every level of college basketball, serving as a Director of Operations, Head Women’s Basketball Coach, Head Men’s Basketball Coach,  Assistant Men’s and Women’s Basketball Coach, and Recruiting Coordinator.Samba’s love for coaching evolved into a love of ministering to young men and women.  For the past sixteen years he has had many ministry experiences, such as University of Charleston Fellowship of Christian Athletes; Friends University Men’s and Women’s Basketball Team Chaplin; Stetson University Bible Talk Ministry; La Roche College Campus Bible Study; Cleveland State University Men’s Basketball Team Chaplin; Longwood University Men’s Basketball Team Chaplin and Longwood University Wesley House Intern.

Samba received the call to youth ministry in November of 2016 at Antioch United Methodist Church in Farmville, VA, under Pastor Richard Meiser.  His previous experiences of ministering to college-age students have now led him to focus on developing youth in the foundations of Christianity.  He is very passionate in guiding youth in their journey of developing their personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

Samba enjoys the beach, college basketball, college football, traveling and hanging out with family.  He grew up a Pittsburgh Steeler, Pirate, Penguin and University of Pittsburgh fan.  Samba is single and is currently taking care of his ninety-four-year-old grandfather who resides with him in Pensacola.
